Welcome to the 3rd Annual Fundy Connects Summit: The Environment Is Our Economy.
The Summit is a product of the Rural Upper Fundy Partnership, a network of local businesspeople, government officials, non-profit directors and citizens who are spearheading forward-thinking destination development activities across the region. Its purpose is to report on and advance the regions’ destination development and stewardship strategy.
The 2024 Fundy Connects Summit: The Environment Is Our Economy, is focused on strategic collaboration for the wealth and wellbeing of our communities. This year we are thrilled to host nationally recognized practitioners in regenerative experience development including a Regional Tourism Organization and Marketing Board, who are working with local businesses to create legendary experiences that are bolstering rural economies. We will report on the progress made in scaling shared destination management activities, such as digital wayfinding and marketing, employee training, risk management and regional strategic planning by activating the region's GreenStep Sustainability Plan.
The 2024 Summit is a gathering to share knowledge, connect with regional and provincial destination development collaborators, and learn how to put into practice actions that will ensure travel in New Brunswick is a force for good.
The Rural Upper Fundy Region is one of New Brunswick’s premiere destinations. This ecological zone stretches from Fundy St. Martins in the west, through to Fundy Albert in the east and Sussex at its northward point. It is home to Fundy National Park, three provincial parks, two UNESCO designations and approximately 170 small businesses directly supporting the visitor economy. The Regional Destination Development & Stewardship Strategy is aimed to:
Strengthen the region's digital literacy and presence to help guests in their trip planning and explore the area for longer - all year round.
Rebuild our workforce by attracting and retaining ‘high values’ employees.
Showcase our region and neighbouring urban centres as leaders in destination stewardship, sustainable business practices and regenerative experiences.
